Nick's Review:
Located in North Austin, Bone Daddy’s House of Smoke certainly caters to the 18-30 crowd of single men bent on sexy waitresses, well-priced food & beer, and TVs showing sports from wall to wall. While family-friendly isn’t the first term that comes to mind, the atmosphere is a few notches up from the spandex shorts and tights of your average Hooters restaurant, but not quite on par with that of Chili’s. So, if you’re comfortable bringing your wife/kids/date/best friend’s sister to that sort of environment, this should be no different.
Having a choice of two levels of seating with a patio and bar near the front entrance, Bone Daddy’s shouldn’t have any trouble accommodating both small and large parties. The waitresses are bubbly and chatty, and there is seldom a long wait to be seated except perhaps during peak hours.
Their menu consists of primarily barbecue food with large portions of brisket, sausage, and sandwiches available in many flavors and forms, and a sizable selection of sides you’d normally expect from such a restaurant. Whether you’re reading a newspaper on your lunch break, or watching sports on an endless array of screens, there’s enough variety on the menu to satisfy most cravings and these are further complimented by daily beer specials.
Bone Daddy’s is definitely a vibrant venue during sports events, and you seldom find anyone there not having a good time. If moderately-priced BBQ food, an endless supply of beautiful college-aged waitresses, and a lively atmosphere cater to your lunch and dinner-time cravings, drive up north on Research Blvd – there’s plenty of parking.
